This house is the first in Singapore by Neri & Hu. It treats the landscape and the dwelling as layers that can be folded, lapped and manipulated to challenge the notions of inside, and outside, landscape and building, private and public.
Designed for a mother and her two daughters the house aims to bring its occupants closer to nature by virtue of ambiguous architectural thresholds. The material palate is restrained and elegant using timber, stone, metal, water and glass. The detail is crisp and pristine with only the solar shading allowed its slight undulation as if disturbed by a breeze.
