People living in tight spaces have been waiting for a sofa like this. It is designed by Matthew Pauk and is known as the Slot sofa. It combines the Ottoman, drinks table and a comfy sofa that seems to epitomise a fashionable urban lifestyle. It would certainly grace any modern city apartment.

The clever thing is that the designer has really understood how sofas are actually used; from TV dinners to chilling out with a glass of wine and an intimate chat with friends.

Conceived as something like a 3D puzzle it is clear to see how the table and foot rests pull out, but what I like are the hidden magnets in the cushions that prevent them coming loose and flying all over the place.

Chic, convenient, comfort, is after all the urban lifestyle mantra.
