Wine Tavern in Fellbach

Prior to its conversion, this timber-framed house, dating from 1805, was used for wine-making, and the vaulted cellar was the scene of wine festivals. On the ground floor, which has a room height of only 2.05a m in part, a sales area with a space for sampling wine has been created. The building was gutted, and the walls were lined with shelving and cupboard elements that even out irregularities in the structure. Oiled oak was used for the furnishings and fittings as a reminiscence of the old oak wine casks. The floor is uniformly finished with a polished screed, which accentuates the flowing, harmonic quality of the sequence of spaces – from the higher shop entrance, down the broad stairs to the cellar.
