The multidisciplinary studio, consisting of urban planners, architects and landscape designers, was founded in 2006 by Gijs Wolfs, Oriol Casas Cancer, Paul Kersten and Ernst van Rijn (from left to right). The philosophy of Wurck: Only precise analysis of the site and program, as well as open dialogue with all planning participants and citizen stakeholders, leads to the best built result. The Rotterdam-based studio has a team of 25 employees who work on projects ranging from small objects to strategic visions; from residential buildings to landscape planning. wUrck’s multidisciplinary approach is particularly useful for mobility projects, such as the underground bicycle garage on Strawinskylaan in Amsterdam.
