Youth Centre in Munich

The youth centre owes its attention grabbing name of “Red Dragon” to its unusual external rust red plastic membrane skin which envelopes both façade and roof in an undisguised manner. Because of the unclear urban design situation at the time of planning, it was decided that a site independent building with a life span of about 10 years should be developed. It was executed in timber frame construction on two strip footings while the floors, ceilings and walls are lined with plywood panels.
