Zero Gravity - The magnetic sliding system

Zero Gravity: the new ØG® sliding door defies the force of gravity, moving without electricity or a motor by taking advantage of the principle of passive magnetic levitation. Safe and silent, it permits manual opening and closing of even the heaviest doors, weighing up to 1,000 kg. Developed using the Ironlev® patent, it employs a particular geometry of passive magnets to lift large masses on a small rail. The system consists of a levitation system mounted flush with the floor containing the magnetic sliders rail and the beam for connection with the door. All that is visible is an 8 mm crack, filled by brushes, with no overhang. Mechanisms for contrasting the lifting thrust of the magnets and lowering the door are contained in the upper part to permit better seal and closing. The materials used by Secco Sistemi, brass, stainless steel and corten, ensure high aesthetic quality and permit insertion of rails in constructions in a variety of different styles, with thin frames that allow the emphasis to remain on the glass.
