3XN
3XN was established in 1986 and looks back on more than 30 years of experience in designing cultural, office and residential buildings that have a positive influence on human behaviour, productivity and social interaction. 2007 saw the opening of the company’s own department for research and innovation, GXN Innovation. The findings related to behavioural research and circular and parametric design flow directly into 3XN’s designs and strategies. Operated according to the Scandinavian approach, 3XN has grown into a company with 180 architects and researchers representing 25 different nationalities; they demonstrate both local and international experience. 3XN has offices in Copenhagen (HQ), Sydney, New York, London and Stockholm. This worldwide capacity means that the firm can create architecture with global “best practice” while showing respect for local cultures and managing new perspectives.

I have a good collection of Norwegian Jazz thanks to my much-loved Norwegian friend who wanted me to know of the vibrant jazz scene in that country. Of course I expressed my doubts: improbable... where does the tradition come from... who are these musicians... etc. All a ploy of course, in the hope of getting another excellent recording for my next birthday present!Such a ploy today would be hopeless. The “Plassen” (meaning square or place) designed by 3XN Architects has opened. For the first time it gives the world famous Molde's International Jazz Festival an undeniable, and rather special architectural presence.
