Lightweight Precast Concrete Elements

A new inner-city perimeter block development with six buildings and a total of 139 apartments has been built in the centre of Leipzig. Prefabricated Klimapor elements from H+L Baustoff in Glauchau were used for both the exterior and interior walls. These are made of structurally-dense, porous, robust Liapor lightweight concrete. The high degree of prefabrication enables rapid construction progress. Another factor in favour of Klimapor for local planners pmhLE was the ecological value of the elements. These are made of natural components, some of which do not require an additional insulation layer. They have a high thermal insulation and storage capacity, offer high sound and fire protection (F90) and are recyclable. The structural concept even allowed for a seven-storey new building.
