Stadium roof made of flexible composite materials

The roof of the Rostov Arena in Rostov-on-Don consists of 46 segments separated by steel arches and fitted with Flexlight Xtrem TX30-IV from Serge Ferrari. These are braced by a system of steel cables attached to pillars in the outer wall.

Populous designed the Rostov Arena in Rostov-on-Don for the Football World Cup in Russia.  For the roof, the office chose flexible composite materials. This made it possible to create curved roof structures reminiscent of the meanders of the Don River, protecting all four grandstands from snow and rain.
