Zinc-covered Headquarters

Chocolate manufacturer Max Felchlin has its headquarters in the valley basin of Schwyz, the capital of the canton of the same name. Its new building, designed by Meili, Peter Architekten, has a striking, curved roof construction. Three peaks rise above the 22 × 100 m-large roof area, which are reminiscent of the peaks of the surrounding mountains as well as of Japanese temples. The roof is clad with approximately 2400 m² of Rheinzink-prePatina titanium zinc blue-grey covering in the double standing seam system. Titanium zinc is, as the architects emphasise, a softly malleable material that can easily follow the curve radii. Moreover, using it is in line with the “idea of promoting regional craftsmen”. At the same time it stands for quality and durability.
