The main load-bearing structure of the building for a metal processing company in Schwäbisch Hall, which was planned and realised by Zero Architektur and timber construction company Schaffitzel Holzindustrie, consists of 30.5-m-long gabled roof trusses with a straight lower chord and a full-surface roof panel made of glued laminated timber. It is supported by pin-ended columns made of glued laminated timber and fixed steel-concrete prefabricated columns. These are fitted with crane runway brackets and are designed for a crane runway with a lifting capacity of 3.2 t.
The 220-m2 cantilevered canopy consists of cantilever beams and purlins made of glued laminated timber, which for aesthetic reasons were provided with spruce three-layer panels. The canopy apron merges smoothly into the facade and extends around the entire building.
