Bathroom Furniture with Clear Forms

At the bathroom exhibition as part of the Salone del Mobile 2024, Laufen is presenting the Meda collection in a stand designed by architects Snøhetta. The new bathroom collection, designed by Peter Wirz from Studio Vetica, combines clean lines with soft shapes to create a timeless design. The concept comprises a complete system of ceramics, fittings and bathroom furniture characterised by modularity.

Washbasin and vanity units 

 The linear and minimalist design of the washbasin is based on a mathematical logic that is applied to the various shapes and sizes. The washbasin has a square and austere outer profile in contrast to the large inner basin with its delicate shape and rounded corners. The collection includes several variants characterised by a certain asymmetry that meets the need for a large surface without compromising the lightness of the overall design. The dimensions of the washbasins range from the small 450 × 235 mm guest washbasin to the large 1200 mm wide washbasin and also include a double washbasin measuring 1300 mm. They are all available in white ceramic, in a glossy or matt finish, as well as in the colours graphite matt and black matt.

Bathroom furniture 

The drawers with soft-close and full-extension runners offer plenty of storage space and keep the bathroom organised. An internal organisation system provides additional organisation when storing cosmetics and small bathroom utensils.
The collection also includes a vertical wall unit with a height of 1650 mm, completing a coherent set of elements that can be combined with each other to create different compositional variations. There is a choice of 43 lacquer finishes, including three special metallic colours, as well as a wild oak wood finish. The interior of the furniture is finished in a very elegant anthracite grey.

Bathtub 

The bathtub with its slim silhouette is made of the composite material Marbond. Available in a freestanding version, wall-mounted and also as a corner version on the right or left. The freestanding bath is also available in a two-tone version: matt traffic grey on the outside and glossy white on the inside. 

WCs and bidets 

According to the manufacturer, the rimless WCs are among the first models to be offered with the manufacturer's Silent Flush technology. The vortex flush technology directs the water powerfully and so quietly through the inner bowl that even strict sound insulation standards are met. At the same time, water consumption is reduced and bathroom hygiene is improved.

Exhibition stand by Snøhetta  

Under the title "Matter", the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta explores the tactile appeal of the natural raw materials of ceramics alongside the metallic elements of the fittings. The raw materials of ceramics and fittings are represented by wall panels made of clay, plaster and brass, which convey a feeling of nature and warmth. In terms of sustainability, the exhibition has been designed with a circular approach, ensuring that as many materials as possible are reused in Milan or destined for further applications.
