Based in Marseille, freelance photographer Maxime Verret focused his lens on skateboarding until 2020, a passion that took him around the world and into solo and group exhibitions on cities and their inhabitants. This sharpened his eye for urban space and led to collaborations with numerous architecture and urban planning practices. He also pursues landscape photography as an artistic practice. Verret photographed the Collège Maryse Bastié by Tectoniques.
During the renovation of the secondary school, Tectoniques Architectes unified the disparate buildings in terms of structure and design. The labyrinthine layout was reorganised and the building was raised and clad in a new, largely uniform exterior.
