“Let’s Play!” can be seen in the gardens of Rome’s Villa Medici until 2 October 2022. In spring 2023, it will be moved to the Grand Parc des Docks de Saint-Ouen as part of the Olympic Games in Paris.

Positively parametric
The dancing pavilion consists of 44 m³ of pinewood and is completely demountable, for its parametric design has been optimized for quick assembly and disassembly. The double curve of the architrave running along the spiral shape represented a special challenge.
Open to all
The pavilion is reminiscent of Vladimir Tatlin’s Monument to the Third International (1919-20) as well as the shape of the Colosseum or Shakespeare’s Globe. An area for theatre, football or basketball opens up at the centre of the space.

Forty spectators can follow the action up close. At night, the ellipse transforms into an enormous luminaire.

Specialized in wood construction
The Dream architecture studio, which was founded in 2018 by Dimitri Roussel and is headquartered in Paris, is specialized in wooden and special construction projects. Let’s Play! is the company’s third pavilion after the Flower Pavilion from the 2017 Biennale d’Architecture de Lyon and Sharewood, which appeared at the 2018 Biennale d’Architecture de Bordeaux.
