The Trendy Superbude Hostel by the Prater in Vienna

Atelier Karasinski and Archiguards developed the interior design for the new location of the Superbude hotel chain in Vienna. The 178 individually designed rooms will appeal to a younger clientele. After conquering Hamburg, the hotel operators want to take their hip concept – which they claim unites hotel-level comfort, a hostel vibe and an at-home feeling – and win over the imperial city of Vienna as well.

Zoku and Superbude by the Prater
The first Austrian branch is located just outside the Prater. This park, the city’s largest recreational area, is home to an amusement park known as the Wurstelprater. Three new buildings that go by the name Prater Glacis have been built here on the site of an old bus parking lot. One of these buildings is a hotel with a rather unconventional design. Superbude and Zoku – another operator of temporary accommodations – have moved in. Zoku offers 131 lofts where guests can temporarily live and work. A diversity of theme rooms
At Superbude, guests can reserve one of 178 different Buden [Engl.: pads]. They have been categorized into 17 categories and measure from 20 to 57 m². Apart from double pads with beds for 2 and wooden sleeping boxes, there are four-bed pads in the family version or pads featuring four bunk beds for friends. Moreover, guests can choose special theme rooms.

Gamers can play for hours in the Game City pad, which is equipped with consoles and controllers. In the Kinobude, up to five people can relax and enjoy movie nights in an XXL bed. The Discobude has extra-thick walls, so guests can dance the night away without disturbing others. Music fans can choose either the Austropop Bude or a suite with a recording studio to suit their wishes.

The Atelier is nearly 60 m² and offers enough space for sleeping and being creative. In the Glamping-Bude a carpet of artificial grass, a jungle look and lounge chairs create a real caravan ambience. At the Vogelhaus [birdhouse], even ornithologists will find a perfect place to stay: the little, house-shaped oriel that appears to slide outwards through the white plastered façade is a good match for the name.

Hotel comfort and hostel atmosphere
Humorous and local references, as well as an aeronautics motif, run through all the rooms and communal areas. Along with recycled objects and clever built-ins, the interior designers have repeatedly integrated the Prater’s amusement-park rides into the hostel design. Two restaurants, a bar, a rooftop terrace and spaces for meetings and events round out the Superbude Prater, making it a feel-good place for hipsters, young people and families alike. Whether for a weekend getaway or a business trip – this self-proclaimed coolest hotel in Vienna will certainly afford an adventure.
