A Loam Structure on a Large Scale: Alnatura Office Building in Darmstadt
hasscookzemmrich Studio 2050 have designed Europe’s largest office building with a rammed-earth façade for the Alnatura retail chain. In close cooperation with the loam-building specialists from Lehm Ton Erde, they developed a construction system whereby large loam blocks with insulation were prefabricated in a field factory.

The herb centre planned by Herzog & de Meuron for the Swiss company Ricola consists of a hybrid construction of rammed earth and reinforced concrete.
