Designed by Schlicht Lamprecht Kern Architekten, the community centre combines structural and social sustainability. Two new buildings made of wood and recycled concrete have been added to the two existing buildings to create a meeting place.

Rusty Tranquillity: Office and Operations Building in Schweinfurt
Gently, with respectful restraint, this rust-red new building by Schlicht Lamprecht Architekten takes its place alongside the existing warehouse. Surrounded by a storage area for scrap metal, the railway lines to the back and drone of the trucks driving into and out of the yard, this “structural business card” of the local scrap-metal dealer fits into its raw working environment.
