The swimming hall in the Breton town of Saint-Méen-le-Grand is a complex of many small gabled roofs. The Raum studio has now expanded the centre and covered it with a minimalist shell of wood and slate.

In Tuusula, north of Helsinki, the young architectural firm AOR has brought together four educational institutions to create the Monio cultural and educational centre. Its construction is particularly unusual: Monio is the largest building in Finland to be constructed using logs to date.
