After studying architecture in Dortmund and Aachen, Sebastian Holzhausen (left) completed a master’s degree in the history and theory of architecture at ETH Zurich. Hannes Zweifel (right) also continued his training there, having previously qualified as a drafter and architect in Berlin and Winterthur. In 2012, they established their joint practice, which now maintains offices in Zurich and Bern. Their work centres on the repair, conversion, and extension of existing buildings, giving listed architecture and everyday structures equal weight. A clear example of their shared interest in robust, regionally rooted construction and straightforward building methods is the temporary bus station in Zurich.
