With offices in Zurich and Belgrade, Ten is a hybrid architecture association comprising a nonprofit institute, a joint-stock company, and an informal collective that explores new formats of reciprocal collaboration. Its 15 architects share the conviction that design can create spatial and societal value. Their network includes 85 collaborators – among them artists, landscape architects, NGOs, universities, and cultural institutions. The House for Five Women in Bosnia is a prime example of this transdisciplinary, international mode of working. It also reflects the group’s current efforts to create affordable housing, focusing on shared spaces, collaboration across creative disciplines, and the use of local resources.
